Welcome
I am Mr. Mitchell and I teach 6th Grade Social Studies on Community 6B. I am a Louisville Assistant Football Coach. I taught 3rd grade for 1 year at Fairhope & 5 years teaching 5th grade Social Studies and Language Arts at Fairhope Elementary too.
Before I taught at Fairhope I spent 1 year at Louisville Elementary from 1998-1999 as a Title I Tutor. I am a 1993 graduate of Canton South High School. Upon completing high school I attended and graduated from Malone College with a Bachelor Of Science in Education in 1998.
Finally, I graduated from Malone College with a Master Of Arts in Education in 2004. I am married to my lovely wife Allison of 15 years. We have a an 11 year old son Clay and a 8 year old son Mason who we adore. My hobbies consist of spending time with my family and coaching football & wrestling.
Agenda
Make sure you visit my LESSON PLANS page where you will find my weekly Agenda.
Expectations
When the students arrive in my classroom they should read their grade level section of my whiteboard. It is here that I will communicate the daily learning outcomes, bell work, and daily topics of discussion.
We will always start with some type of Bell Work or warm up activity such as a DGP Daily Geography Practice, A to Z Georgraphy Lesson, or Channel One.
Classroom Rules:
Expectations: To insure a great learning environment, students must:
1. Be on time.
2. Be prepared for class with all necessary materials and assignments.
3. Be respectful of the rights and properties of others.
4. Be polite and practice self-control.
5. Be a team player to have fun!
Procedures:
A. Find your seat.
B. Get out all necessary materials
B. Read the Daily Agenda.
C. Begin working on the assigned Bell Work.
Planner
Each week I give a classroom AGENDA and all the student's homework for the week. On this agenda you will find Homework Due Dates, Topics of Discussion in Social Studies and any other important Classroom information.
It is ESSENTIAL that you take the time and check your child's planner NIGHTLY to make sure you have all of your homework done or know if there are any tests or quizzes coming up. Again you will find the Weekly Agenda on my AGENDA page.
Thanks for visiting my website and I look forward to another GREAT Year here at LMS!
